Play day!

On Friday we splurged a little, ok a lot, by taking a day off to tour a town called Mamalapurum. We visited some ancient ruins, did some serious shopping and stopped by a beach resort for a couple off hours. I felt a little bad about taking time off to play, but I think it was a great experience and the rest was very much needed! Future volunteers can look forward to a fun filled day like this!
We were some tough chicks holding up this massive boulder all by oursleves!
I just wanted to pet him! We joked that the goat was saying, "A-a-a-a-n-t-i-e, n-o-o-o.." Haha, darn.

So many shops to choose from! It was a great way to learn more about the Indian culture. I did pretty well at calculating rupies to us dollars and vice versa while haggling with the salesmen! I bought a fantastic wall tapestry for my house! I can think of India every time I look at it. Yes!!

A random monkey just hangin' out on a city wall, too absorbed in his watermelon to notice us.

My sister snapped this beautiful shot of me on the beach.
Me and Ember relaxing and enjoying the scenery. The only draw back was the strong smell of something dead! It was a bit of a buzz kill so we headed to the pool..
We had to pinch ourselves to make sure we were awake! (insert angels singing) The clean, clear water was heavenly!
We stopped at a quaint little restaurant on the way home. Naan is yum.

As soon as we got home I went to children's hostle to say goodnight to everyone. These girls would never miss a photo op.

Sweetie showed me her room and photos of her sponsors. She is so grateful for them!

And last but not least, here are the littles (a nickname I gave the tiniest kids) going to sleep. Notice a few peeking at me. They are so adorable.
Goodnight everyone! Thank you for your support!
